Covid and Flu Vaccine Update

AUTUMN BOOSTER CAMPAIGN 2023

Mowbray Group Surgeries will be partaking in the covid vaccination autumn booster programme. A covid vaccine will be offered to all those who are usually eligible for the flu vaccination. You will be offered an appointment for this in October 2023, alongside your flu vaccine with us. If you have had your flu vaccine elsewhere, or wish to have covid vaccine only then please contact a member of the team to book into one of our covid only clinics. Unfortunately we are only offering this vaccine for the month of October. If you wish to have your vaccine at a different time then please book in using the National Booking Service.

If you are booked in to have your flu and covid vaccine at Hutton Rudby, following previous years successful clinics, we will be holding these once again at the Village Hall in Hutton Rudby, not the Surgery.

TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID RECENTLY?

If you have recently tested positive for covid then you need to wait before getting your covid vaccine.

  • Aged 18 or over – wait 4 weeks (28 days) from the date of your positive test or when your symptoms started (whichever was earlier)
  • Aged 5-17 – wait 12 weeks (84 days)
  • Aged 5-17 and at high risk from Covid or you live with someone who has a weakened immune system – wait 4 weeks (28 days)

CHILDREN

All children from aged 5-15 can now book appointments via the National Booking System.  Children are being vaccinated in specific clinics and will not be able to get a vaccine without an appointment.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT

There is further information available at the following websites.

FACE COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING

In line with recent NHS guidance, we will be removing the need for patients and staff to wear face masks whilst at the Practice. We do however continue to ask that patients with symptoms suggestive of covid such as; cough, sore throat etc do continue to wear a face mask whilst in the practice to protect other vulnerable patients and colleagues.

When you attend the Practice there may be team members who continue to wear a face covering and we ask that you respect their choice to do so.

COVID-19 ‘VACCINE PASSPORTS’

Watch this handy five minute YouTube video for how to register with the NHS app:

  • Download the NHS app

  • If you don’t have access to a smartphone and know the country you are travelling to requires your COVID-19 vaccination status, contact 119 by telephone. They can post a letter to you. It might take 5 days for this letter to reach you and you are advised not to contact them until 5 days after your vaccination.

  • DO NOT CONTACT YOUR GP

ONLINE E-CONSULTATIONS

#

Currently you are unable to book appointments online, however you can submit a request to a member of our team online via our e-consultation service. This allows you to submit your admin or medical query for a member of our team to view and either respond via the website or contact you in another way. To learn more about this service please click here.

If you agree to a remote consultation the GP or healthcare professional may need to receive and store images taken by patients for clinical purposes. This will only be done in the interests of the patient where it is necessary for providing health care and with patient consent. The approach to video consulting, image sharing, and storage is the same as it would be for face to face interactions. If we need to store images on your GP record this will be only for as long as necessary. It is a patient’s choice to share an image either of their own accord or at the request of the health professional treating you. Refusal to share an image does not prevent access to care and treatment or result in patients receiving an inferior standard of care. Further details about how remote consultation works can be obtained by contacting the practice.

To help keep you safe we ask that you only come into the surgery if you absolutely have to, either for a pre-booked appointment or if you are collecting a prescription.
