Katherine can help you to access the local community and support you to find your own solutions to your health and wellbeing goals.

If you would like to make an appointment with her to discuss how they can support or advise you, please speak to a member of our reception team who can arrange a time for you to see Katherine.

Carers

You can get help and support if you’re responsible for looking after someone who has a disability, is getting old or has become ill. This can range from practical help to make day-to-day life easier to benefits like Carer’s Allowance.

Bereavement support

Bereavement support can take the form of practical help and advice around registering a death, getting information from health services, funeral arrangements, financial advice; or emotional help such as counselling and support groups.

Wheels 2 Work

Wheels 2 Work is a not for profit moped loan scheme, that helps people get to work, apprenticeships, or training, where no other form of transport is available. Eligible candidates receive a moped after they have completed the compulsory basic training (CBT).

Volunteering

Hambleton Community Action work with charities, community groups and public sector organisations across Hambleton and collate information on the different volunteer roles they have available.

North Yorkshire Horizons is the drug and alcohol recovery service for North Yorkshire.

They provide a range of free, confidential and non-judgemental services for individuals and their families affected by drugs and/or alcohol.

Sexual Health

Information about sexual health and contraception services in York and North Yorkshire. Yor Sexual Health offers confidential, free and friendly services that are available to everyone.

Hambleton Community Action

Hambleton Community Action is a registered charity providing advice, information and support to voluntary and community groups.

They also promote volunteering and offer a number of services for the local community.

Samaritans

The Samaritans offers a safe place for you to talk any time you like, in your own way – about whatever’s getting to you. You don’t have to be suicidal.

North Yorkshire County Council

The council website has information on health and social care including safeguarding, disabilities, carers, health and wellbeing, social care for adults, social care for children, support with daily living and the Care Act.

The Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme helps people manage their own health and wellbeing through recommended self-help books endorsed by health experts. You can be recommended a title by a health professional, or you can visit your local library and take a book out yourself.

There is also information on housing, education and learning, community and volunteering, childcare and much more.

PhysioDirect

PhysioDirect is the convienient way to access NHS musculoskeletal physiotherapy for patients who have muscle or joint problems. The PhysioDirect service is located within the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.

Mental Health Support Hambleton and Richmondshire

Mental Health Support (MHS) is a charitable organisation offering support to people who, for whatever reason, are experiencing a  mental health problem.

This could range from difficulty in coping with life experiences and the anxiety this brings, to more serious problems such as depression or schizophrenia. MHS offers welcoming practical support and aims to assist the many people concerned to achieve independence, and to prevent deterioration in their condition and or situation when they become unwell.

Access to Work  – provides practical support to access work, travel, aids and adaptions. Grants to the value of up to £57,200 pa

Fit for Work – free advice to return to work/overcome barriers through telephone or online chat
